• How to ensure the correct operation of my gas installation, i live in Misericórdia?

Please note that boilers are a combustion equipment. In this way, they are associated with a gas installation, either piped or bottled. It is essential to ensure that it is handled by certified technicians/companies. Otherwise, you could be putting your home and especially your family at risk.

1. Have an annual check on your gas appliances – the elderly, retired or chronically ill are entitled to a free annual check, please inquire.
2. Always check that the technician is registered with DGEG – gas technicians must be certified by DGEG and fulfil one of the following requirements – Possess a dual certification qualification (through the modalities of the National Qualifications System) or have completed training in the gas area integrated in the National Qualifications Catalog
3. Did you know that it is illegal for someone who works for a gas company to do work in a “personal” way?
4. You must request a gas inspection when: you carry out a new gas contract, change your supplier, change ownership of the gas contract (unless you present a valid inspection certificate), after changing pipes, among others.
5. If you move house, always test the devices – Security conditions may be gathered or they may not be. Play it safe, and make sure everything is ok.
6. Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning – headaches; dizziness; nausea; shortness of breathe; loss of consciousness, among others…
7. What to do in the event of a carbon monoxide leak? – get fresh air immediately: open doors and windows; turn off all gas appliances and turn off the gas at the meter; leave the house; in case of any symptoms consult your doctor immediately or go to the hospital.
8. We advise you to purchase an audible carbon monoxide alarm.
